I can be my own worst enemy sometimes! I’ve been criticized many times by other people and a lot of the criticisms are really nasty but some of the worst criticisms come from my own head.
When I had this pic taken a couple of weeks ago I found myself thinking silly things such as “my butt is too flabby to wear this swimsuit” or “I still have excess fat and skin on my belly” – and then I reminded myself of what I constantly tell others about being kind to ourselves & embracing these so-called “flaws”. I really needed to practice what I preach and just get over myself!
I’m constantly working on this and have come a long way but it’s something I think I’ll have to keep working on. It’s like fitness training for your brain – you’ve gotta be consistent with it!! You can’t control what other people think, say or do but you can control the way you treat yourself and others. I truly believe that what you consume yourself with the most (negative thoughts and actions) is what you become and the people you surround yourself with have a massive impact on that and how you feel about yourself. So if you’re surrounded by negative people you may find yourself turning into one of them!
If you’re always pessimistic and you project your negativity onto others it will be impossible for you to be happy (or enjoyable for others to be around)!
It’s up to you to put a stop to it and start making positive changes. The first step I believe is changing what you think and how you treat others. Take control and check yourself before that negativity spirals out of control.
